Beatrix Potter Peter Rabbit Art With Derwent Metallic Mixed Media Set On Behalf Of Cult Pens
The artwork in this post was created using a series of traditional watercolors, however, the reason I am showcasing it is to help demonstrate my review of the Derwent Metallic Mixed Media Set that was sent to me by Cult Pens here in the UK.
I chose to add a girls name to the piece in order to help demonstrate the value of metallic watercolor paints or metallic colored pencils. I had originally struggled with concepts of where and when to use metallic art supplies for the longest time, but more recently after reviewing a few other brands, it finally dawned on me that there are many uses for such art supplies.
In this case I had originally painted a quick watercolor sketch of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter in my Etchr Watercolor Sketchbook in order to review a different product. But when it came to reviewing the Derwent Metallic Mixed Media Set, I got the idea of using the paints to help accentuate and separate a name from the main painting. I used a name other than any of my own children names so that people didn’t think I was trying to create a painting for them and causing a copyright issue, this was purely in the interest of demonstration and reviewing
The paper used for this particular piece was the St Cuthberts Mill Saunders Waterford Watercolor Block, however if you would like to know more about the Derwent Metallic Mixed Media Set either by watching my YouTube Video review or by reading my Written review where you will find out the amazing price Cult Pens are currently selling this set for, check out the links at the bottom of the post.
If you would like to know more about the Derwent Metallic Mixed Media Set that created the beautiful colors in the name at the top of this Peter Rabbit painting, you can follow the link to The Art Gear Guide YouTube Channel Video review by simply clicking the link. Alternatively you can follow the link to the written review where you will find additional information such as lightfast ratings, colors available in the set and most importantly, the amazing price Cult Pens are currently selling the set for.
I also explain in detail the reason myself and Cult Pens have agreed to occasional send me products to review which I hope you read or watch as it is important to me that you understand I am not being paid or earning commission from Cult Pens to submit reviews. I have personally shopped and used Cult Pens for approximately six years and on top of their professional service, their prices are so competitive and I personally feel it is so important to help support and maintain our smaller art stores against the larger online shopping platforms; but you can discover a more in-depth discussion on the reviews.
If you would like to know how to paint this very same image I will be adding a real time tutorial to my Patreon Channel where you can learn all the different tips and techniques that I used to create the painting. There are lots of other tutorials available on my Patreon Channel if you are interested and for as little as $2 per month you will have full access to every tutorial I provide, simply click and follow the link.
