Lyra Polycolor Horses Eye Artwork Demonstration
The images on this page are from the artwork I completed using the Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor Colored Pencils. I have completed a review of the Lyra Polycolor before, right back when I first started the website, however, back then I failed to demonstrate the products properly and thus didn’t supply artwork.
In this refreshed edition of the Lyra Rembrandt Polycolor, as my understanding and knowledge of colored pencils and art in general has improved over the years, I have been able to hopefully provide a much more comprehensive review of the Lyra Polycolor as well as providing real time tests which can be viewed on the YouTube video review.
I completed this study of a horses eye with the Lyra Polycolor Colored Pencils on Fabriano Artistico Extra White Hot Pressed Paper. On this paper the layers I was able to achieve was endless and that was without using odourless mineral spirits. I also completed some testing on the Clairefontaine Paint On Mixed Media paper which also was able to accommodate a significant amount of layers from the Lyra Polycolor pencils.
I am using this artwork as one of my tutorials on my new Patreon account, however, I wish I had of stopped at the stage photographed above. I think given that the image is a close up of a Horses eye, adding to the study and including more of the head was a mistake, nevertheless, if you like this image you can follow me on Patreon to get a real time tutorial, this is a very simple image to replicate and hopefully I can portray this in a tutorial format.
