Lyra Graduate Artwork
Lyra Graduate Artwork
The Lyra Graduate Colored Pencils may only be a Student grade pencil, but they are far from the expectations one might endeavour to predict when using a student grade pencil. Many companies are producing high quality, lower priced colored pencils, long gone are the days of purchasing a set of colored pencils only to work so hard with them to produce color on the paper that the paper itself rip.
For this simple artwork demonstration I used the Lyra Graduate 36 set on Strathmore Bristol Smooth 300 Series. Originally, I used the Clairefontaine Paint-On Mixed Media paper for the swatching of the pencils and the various tests which you can find on the YouTube Review and Written Review
I decided to keep the subject matter of the artwork really simple but with vibrant color in the hope that I demonstrate the ability of the Lyra Graduate Colored Pencils. Whilst the pencils performed well on the Clairefontaine Paint-On Mixed Media paper, I personally preferred the results on the Strathmore 300 Series Bristol Smooth paper, however you can click on the images and enlarge them to inspect, you be the judge.
To find out more about the Lyra Graduate Colored Pencils, you can check out the YouTube video review which has been uploaded to The Art Gear Guide YouTube Channel, or if you prefer to read your reviews you can check out my written review. I have also added a speed drawing video of the artwork which you can watch as well as the still images on this page.
