Derwent Studio Colored Pencils Bird Art
Derwent Studio Colored Pencils Bird Art
I have created this artwork in line with my latest review of the Derwent Studio Coloured Pencils. This is a redo of an older Derwent Studio review and to find out why I am doing this, check out either the written review or YouTube video review.
I am a huge fan of Alan Woollett, perhaps one of the finest colored pencil bird artist about, I recently seen one of his more recent WIP’s on his Instagram page and happened to notice the surface of the paper he was using. As someone who normally uses Strathmore, I had to at least try the paper Alan was using which was the Fabriano Artistico 100% Cotton paper.
I think it was a combination of the paper and the precision of the Derwent Studio Coloured Pencils that has helped me create this piece. I have to say I am very happy with the outcome of the artwork and I think this demonstrates nicely the pigment in the Studio core. I have a long way to go before I am half the bird artist Mr Woollett is, but I love every minute practising, reading his book and watching the online class produced for colored pencils artists.
To find out more about the Derwent Studio Coloured Pencils you can check out my YouTube Review or if you prefer I have added a written account of the pencils complete with Hi Def images. I have also completed a speed drawing of this artwork so you can watch it come to life, if that is not your thing, I have added this page so that you can select the image you like, enlarge it and inspect the pencil strokes and pigment strengths at your own leisure.
