Lest We Forget
Lest We Forget
I am sure most of you already know this, however, for those of you new to the The Art Gear Guide, before I turned to art, I actually served in the British Army for 13 years. Unfortunately my military career was cut short due to a spinal injury I sustained during an Operational Tour.
As a result of my career, I always get quite sentimental around this time of year, remembering lost friends and so I wanted to try and paint something with a beautiful set of Unison Pastels I have had for some time now. This is the first painting I have ever done with such amazing pastels, I have always marvelled at the wonderful work pastel artists do and so wanted to try my hand at it.
I didn't take progression images with this painting as I normally do, however, I have a series of images I hope you enjoy looking at. The work was completed on Canson Pastel Paper and I used the magnificent Unison Pastels. If you are interested I have a full review of the Unison Pastels on my site at this link.
I took photos of the final image but then I wanted to see what the image would look like with a few clouds added into the painting. To be honest I am not quite sure which image I like best so you guys can be the judge.
I really enjoyed using these fantastic Unison Pastels and after a while of using them and hopefully improving, I will purchase a few more colors and try something a bit more adventurous. Although I am happy with the overall outcome of the image, it is really quite a simple image.
